- Alberto Del Rio had a dispute with senior WWE management recently and he threatened to quit the company, according to F4WOnline.com.
Their sources in the WWE claim that Del Rio has become so frustrated with his role in the company and his current contract that he has been contemplating quitting. It is said that after speaking his mind to WWE officials a couple of weeks ago, he threatened to walk out on American wrestling.
It has been well documented that WWE were unhappy with how Alberto Del Rio’s two reigns as WWE Champion went last year. Vince McMahon hand picked Del Rio to become the big star of 2011, having him win the Royal Rumble in January and become a main event player who eventually won the gold in the summer but McMahon’s criticisms of Del Rio’s performances, particularly in his lack of aggression and playing it safe to avoid injury in the big gimmick matches, along with his inability to move ratings with the belt, led Vince to change his mind over pushing him and put the title on CM Punk.
Del Rio has been an upper mid card guy for six months now and didn’t even have a match on the WrestleMania 28 card. He was set to get something of a renewed push in a feud with Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title but his scheduled place in the title match was taken from him and handed to Big Show who became the new World heavyweight Champion.
One WWE source believes Del Rio may have been stripped from the match because of his recent outburst and because McMahon is starting to lose faith in him. Del Rio's last schedule title match was also called off because of the reports that Del Rio had suffered a concussion and was too injured to work may well have been exaggerated and it is interesting to note that he wrestled the very next night against Santino Marella and showed no signs of any health problems.
Some critics of Del Rio have noted that his passion for the business may be disappearing. He is a wealthy man with no income concerns and would easily find high-paying work as a Mexican hero because of his credentials as a former WWE Champion and as the son of luchador Don Caras.

| he seems the same as when he first appeared in the wwe. I can't think of any aspect of him or his character that has changed ever. Can anyone else? He needs someone like JBL or Flair mentoring him as he is basically using the JBL gimmick, but is a more classic technical wrestler. He needs something to inspire him. And obviously title runs didn't do that, so a mentor might. | |

| to spice things up you could give him a few months worth of segments showing him paying off officials and other wrestlers to get cheap wins, really pushing the wealth thing more. And see if he can pull off some minor acting with weekly encounters with Flair, even if flair is a face GM they could work something out, with Flair giving him tougher challenges and Del Rio getting pissing him off more and more. | |

| the weird thing is that the ring announcer is about all he has going for him gimmick wise. Don't get rid, just remind people that he's so rich he can do what he likes. Just popped into my head a class idea... As he's so rich and disgruntled with wwe managment, he decides to create his own divisional belt, pays for a lavish gold belt, with a green strap and have him set up the Mexican Championship Division. Then when they go to mexico they can have a tonne of invitational matches. When he is over as the lavish rich cunt again, rey or sin could win the belt. Then they could either donate the championship to mexico/retire it, or keep it going if it's a success with wwe hiring new talent from mexico.
Yes, I am that good at ideas.

| With ADR, he doesn't do anything new. his gimmick is a mix of JBL and Ted DiBiase, without any of the charisma of either of them. He manages to be overshadowed by Ricardo Rodriguez pretty much weekly.
When he debuted, I thought he looked great, but he's never pushed on to that next level.
I'd make him lose his money, the cars and all that, and that white scarf (no-one can look intimidating wearing that), and have him driven to regain the world title to restore his family's honour, or something along those lines. The rich man stuff has been done by Dibiase and JBL too well for someone like ADR to do it on a comparable level.
