TNA Wrestler Planning On Leaving, Update On Shelley And WWE

Chris Sabin has plans to follow former Motor City Machine Guns mate Alex Shelley out the door.

The four-time X Division Champion has told friends that he plans on leaving TNA Wrestling when his contract expires in August.

On May 21, it was reported that Shelley had opted not to renew his TNA Wrestling contract, thus ending his eight-year tenure with the organization.

Alex Shelley was never actually contacted directly by WWE officials. A friend of Shelley's who currently wrestles for WWE was the one who let Shelley know that WWE was interested in bringing him in.

Shelley reportedly wants to take a few weeks off to relax and then officially begin negotiating with WWE. SuperLucha's source reports that Shelley is concerned about being sent to Florida Championship Wrestling and wants to go straight to WWE's main roster.

I think as far as Shelley and Sabin linking up in WWE, they'd get over as a face tag team but I'm not sure Vince would push them due to their long relationship with TNA. TNA is not the indies, they are direct competition as much as WWE does not think they are and pushing those two would lead to people eventually finding TNA.

Also, I don't think Vince is that interested in the tag division and quite frankly it's gotten so boring even with the new teams. Every match is exactly the same, it's as if the agents do not know how to do different tag team match finishes. A face win happens after the hot tag with both faces in the ring and a heel win occurs due to a roll up after interference from either a manager or the other member of the tag team.

As for the Kings of Wrestling, I'd keep them separated for now as both Ohno and Cesaro have the size and can get over by themselves and work good matches. If a time came for them to re-form then I wouldn't be opposed but both have had singles success on the indies and I'd like WWE to give them a shot individually first.

Re Punk and Bryan there is an argument that they have got themselves to their current position. Punk through his promo and Bryan with 'yes' and his in ring performances. Ironically it was probably the 18 second loss at WM (which has to be considered negative if not a burial) actually helped him as the IWC in the WM audience and Raw the next next really set his ball rolling.

Punk remember was sent to FCW and told he couldnt work, it took Heyman to get him out, Bryan was destroyed by Cole (aka Vince) on NXT.

Think its HHH keen on the Indy guys as he recognises their travels have given them alot of different skills rather than working the WWE way bobdybuilder type.
