Rockstar has just announced Grand Theft Auto V via their website. http://www.rockstargames.com/ Yes, we’re as surprised as you are – it’s come out of nowhere and already half the internet is talking about it. According to the site, a trailer will follow on the 2nd of November, but nothing else is known yet apart from that ‘V’ looking suspiciously like a dollar bill, or the back of a playing card. Money’s involved in a GTA game? Surely not. Vegas? Maybe. We’ll update when we can – we’re expecting a press release at some point. In the meantime – GO WILD in the comments with speculation on what that ‘V’ is all about, that’s what they’re there for.

| Nintendo said they are going to show a trailer for the Wii-U version next month, so i'm guessing we'll see trailers for the XBox360 and PS3 versions next month too. | |

| Funny how there's absolutely nothing to discuss and the internet goes mental over it
A lot of people reckon it'll be San Andreas or Vice City redone.

| but disco, the V!! Doubt they would remake the less advanced games, the last one was alot more cinematic, vice and san an are quite humorous but there's fuck all depth to it really. | |

| unless you mean just set in those cities, then fine lol. I'd love to see a much larger map area, no more blown out bridges, get a plane from city to city. Proper expansive drug running missions and all that. | |

| Not like a remake as such, more a re-imagining.
Like how GTA4 was Liberty City, same as GTA3.

| my main interest will be who the character will be, allows so much scope, people usually hate anything other than american at first, but I do like the idea of having people new to a city and liked 4's illegal alien idea over san andreas' coming back to the hood one. | |

| I'd like to be able to create a character to be honest, depends though, I think your right that they'll carry on in the cinematic direction rather than customise everything. | |

| yeah, only problem with it is the story will be laid down so might then not suit your vision for them. Probably because when I create characters I end up thinking of their personality, back story etc, so would need options to change storyline with decisions like some other games have. | |

| They did toy with it a bit in the last one. Like having the option to kill that Russian fella or let him go, and whoever else you had to track down.
Didn't have much impact though.

| I hope it's set in a diffrent place like the Bronx in New York or even a diffrent country completely like Rio in Brazil? | |

| liberty city is new york! And it has to be based on a city where logically atleast 3 major gangs/criminal outfits will be. Think there will be more mafia stuff this time and possibly triads will be back. It would kick arse if it featured liberty, san andreas and vice city. I'm dreaming again | |

I see where your coming from, but it would be better if they created a new map completly instead of lazely recycling an old map. How about GTA V being set in Manchester, England and you have to work for one of the Chav gangs, with looting Pound Land mission and speeding in a Fiesta? could even have a sitting in the park supping cider mini game? Even bring the Salford Mafia and that Salford Warrior 'super hero' (Knight Warrior) into it too.

| i'm clueless to why you have an obsession with the bronx anyway, time to play, guess when it will be released. I'm going to go for 12.12.12 in time for huge christmas sales | |

| I thought LA Noire was good for what it was, just people expected it to be really free roam like GTA I think, but it was good storywise and quite interesting but short on action
although it had huge flaws in some cases, with them little videos beforehand etc

| Wasn't so much bothered about it being "not GTA", was just disappointed your actions barely had any consequences.
Not only was it piss easy to find a clue, or interrogate someone, it didn't really matter if you were right or wrong. You still got shoehorned into the same conclusions.
Presentation and story wise it was superb, just a shit game I thought.

| yeah, it felt more like a showcase for the facial motion capture etc the kind of games that have to be made to see the advancements in gaming. It really hit home how good that aspect was during the golden butterfly case when showed up (wtf are those percentages for, never seen them in ps3 version) | |

| They weren't in the xbox version either :s
Maybe it was an optional thing.
Thought the game had a dodgy arch too, the homicide section was way better than the rest.
They couldn't resist shooting sections either which was a shame. It would be fine shooting the occasional person but it ended up with situations where you killed about 30 people at once, something I'm pretty sure no policeman has ever/could ever do.

| yeah, you would be twice the size for all your ammo for one lol
it seemed pointless too, just to bump the action up near the end. just take out an entire mafia in an alley where they had the high ground too lol

| The percentage thing was when you can use intuition points to help you, you could remove an answer, ask social club (or some shit) and thats what that was used for cant remember the other one | |
