Big Plans for Rey Mysterio

I wasnt a big fan of his 2 world title reigns but if you look at him since early 2009 he has really upped his game and been involved in the match of the night at several ppv's. some that spring to mind are Swagger vs Rey @ MITB 2010, Jericho in 2009, Punk last year and this year, Rhodes at Mania.

i dunno just dont like him, probably from the time where he went over pretty much everyone and also i hate his promos, i know its in his hometown etc but would like to see some new guys on top.

I hate the wee prick aswell, but he has had some of the best matches over the past couple of years.

I want him to go heel, after the boo's at MitB.

He's not going to go heel for the same reason as Cena but I think he's starting to get Cena heat - the fact he is the same every time you see him and his character hasn't developed for years and years. I'm not denying he's a good worker but I'm not a fan.

im the same his matches i just find boring the only one ive enjoyed in the last couple of years is the feud with Jericho and Punk other than that i hate him and find him boring

I've always liked Rey Mysterio tbh. I wouldn't mind seeing him as the champ.

I'm the same. Although I hated his first reign as it was so poorly booked, but his second was definitely deserved, and the number of his good matches generally outweigh his bad ones.

Who else is there really on RAW (faces, I mean)? Riley, Kingston and Bourne are just as bland as Mysterio.

If the winner of this tournament is just going to job to Punk anyway, I didn't see the harm in giving Kofi a short run with the new title.

Possibly. I'm thinking Triple H might add Cena to the tournament final and make it a Triple Threat, partly because it's good for business and partly to piss off "Pop".

Would Punk go over Cena twice?

Possibly if they are serious about making him a top star, there are only Cena and Orton as top level guys at the moment and if they let Punk go over I think he could join them at the top

I'll be disappointed (to say the least) if this story just fizzles out with Cena emerging triumphiant once more as soon as SummerSlam and with Triple H become Vince 2.0. I don't even totally mind if both of those things happen but stretch them out over a year or so and use it to really push new guys. I still don't think Punk is as over as Orton/Cena, as Sexton put it, it's hype at the minute, WWE can and should follow up on it though.

What I honestly think will happen is that Mysterio will beat Miz on Monday to become the new WWE champion, they will go on to feud at Summerslam and onwards. The other main feud on Raw will be Del Rio vs Cena, this will tide both over until the time is right for Del Rio to cash in and Punk is ready to return. I think Punk will be off tele for a few months.

As for the Punk heat fizzling out it's hard to say. Those fans who get behind him anyway are more likely to follow his activity on Twitter so the hype will continue if he uses it right
