CMLL trademarks Sin Cara for use in Mexico?

CMLL is the company that Sin Cara worked for before signing with WWE. He worked under the name Mistico, and since WWE has to control all of the names of its talent they had to change it. They built a huge marketing campaign around him when he debuted, and I would imagine that it was even bigger in Mexico.

This means WWE have trademarked the name in the US but when touring Mexico presumably he cannot go under the name of Sin Cara or sell any Sin Cara merchandise as in Mexico that name now belongs to CMLL!

Whats the point?

Get one up on them i guess for stealing their talent but I agree it is petty to do it

WWE are hardly ever in Mexico anyway, but they were going to tape a couple of events there this year, arseholes.

can they just not call him sin carra in mexico or something?

They'll probably just not mention his name, somehow, Booker T would fuck it up.

They can have the actual wrestler back, not just the name.
