- CM Punk has been offered a new long-term WWE contract, but at this time he has not signed and could be leaving the company when his current contract expires in a few months. There has been talk about the possibility for some time, but during the European tour, discussion of Punk's exit heated up. As mentioned, Punk has not signed the new offer, citing "burnout with being on the road for years and unhappiness with his position in the company over the last year." A WWE office source had the following to say on the situation…
"When you look at how the company brands it's characters, Punk is never among the top 5-8 names that are promoted or pushed. It's Cena, Orton, Miz, Undertaker, Rey, now Alberto, etc. these days and Punk is sort of floating right under there. He didn't fit into the youth drive a few months back but he's not treated like a top veteran either. He's just there, doing his job and while everyone knows he delivers, he's never really treated like someone who does. He's never dropped the ball but we don't give it to him really, either. He's treated like a guy, but not THE guy. For a driven guy like him who's made wrestling his entire world, it's got to drive him crazy. Now, the excuse will be don't push Punk because he might be leaving, but the reality is the environment and situation is what is probably making him want to leave to begin with. Either it gets fixed or it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, just like it did when Batista walked out."

| If Vince has any sense at all, he'd throw a wad of cash at Punk and make him one of the top guys immediately.
He can wrestle. He can promo. He can get more heat than the entire bunch of NXT and FCW graduates put together. He has great matches.
And yet WWE do nothing with him - his Straight Edge Society was awesome, until he spends the summer jobbing to the Big Show, and wastes everything he's achieved up until that point. At the very least, offer him a year on commentary to rest him up and re-introduce him in a years time.

| I dont know why he isnt one of the top guys already. Hes one of the best in the ring they have, is one of the best they have on the mic and has a very interesting gimmick. He could easily the top heel of the company but he gets jobbed out too much which is a shame because everybody knows (well at least me and all of my friends think) that he could kick most of the other guys on the rosters' arses any day of the week. | |

| To be honest I consider him in the top group of wrestlers in WWE but it is true he hardly gets shots at the belt. As one of the better performers in WWE they'd be stupid to let him go | |

| wwe got scared they wont be able to cope after the oldies fuck off, but pushing kids quick isnt a fix to anything, christian, punk, rhodes, di biase, davey boy, dolph, morrison have got experience and could easilly start making up the top guys for the next era, but shoving in people to main event instantly can only end 2 ways, never looking back and staying there, or drawing no reaction for a year, dropping down the levels and having a failed career within 3 years | |
