Has TNA signed former WWE superstar?

-- TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter announced this afternoon on Twitter the signing of a performer to a new talent contract. Shortly thereafter, "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero commented the following on the social networking site: "Just heard the news. Now THAT....That's Cool!" Many of his followers believed he was alluding to Carlito, as that was the Puerto Rican star's catchphrase during his time in WWE. D'Angelo noted in a follow-up message that his earlier tweet was purely coincidental and that he has no idea as to who was signed. "Whoa! Just got the "News" of Pope's earlier news. That was purely coincidental. For The Record, Pope has NO CLUE as to who was signed," he added. Right.

didnt Carlito say he wanted to do ROH?

Yeah, but I think he will end up in TNA, possibly appearing at BFG which someone said earlier on here.

Do TNA ever debut a wrestler without hyping them up on Twitter beforehand. It would have been good to see Carlito just appear at BFG (they could explain how and why he is there on the night) rather than announcing a new superstar is joining ahead of the PPV and the IWC making an educated guess as is the case here.

Oh I see. So instead of Carlito, we are going to get Paul London?

Fair enough, hype people up but only if they are worth the hype. Even if people work out who the wrestler in question is, they will still tune in to see them. I just don't see the point of doing this for seemingly every wrestler joining TNA.

At least this isn't as bad as Dixie and Jarrett's fortnightly announcements that claim to "change TNA forever".

-- The new TNA signing today is likely either Carlito or Mickie James. TNA president Dixie Carter recently attended a Mickie concert and had a meeting with her. The two seemed to have hit it off well. Carlito's no-compete clause expired several days ago as well and 'The Pope' all but spoiled it with his tweet. We shall see soon but it's likely one of them. Shelton Benjamin is also a possibility but a fairly low one at that.

-- Mary Michael, who is the agent for Mickie James, said recently "To lay the rumors to rest, as of yet I can confirm that Mickie James has not signed a deal with TNA." Take that for what it's worth.

I saw the title and I said to myself,"Yes,Probably".

So basically Pope heard news that TNA has signed an annoymous person who he has no idea and for all he knows could be the Brooklyn Brawler or Gillberg and he is so excited about it that he posted a message saying thats cool?

I guess Pope ain't the only thicko in TNA.
