| England midfielder James Milner has completed his move to Manchester City from Aston Villa on a five-year deal.
City have also announced that Stephen Ireland has moved to Villa Park as part of the deal, reportedly worth £26m.
Milner, 24, will not be able to play in City's Europa League game at FC Timisoara but is available for their home match against Liverpool on Monday.
"He can improve and be a great player for Manchester City for a long time," said manager Roberto Mancini.
Milner, who scored in Villa's 3-0 opening day Premier League victory against West Ham United, passed a medical on Tuesday before completing the move on Wednesday after paying visits to the City of Manchester Stadium and the club's Carrington training ground.
City did not say how much it paid for Milner, but an outlay more than £25m would take the club's spending to almost 150 million pounds ($234 million) since the end of last season.
Milner - the current Professional Footballers' Association young player of the year - joins new signings Yaya Toure, David Silva, Jerome Boateng, Aleksandar Kolarov and Mario Balotelli at Eastlands.
"I am very happy to have James with us, everybody knows we have admired him for some time," added Mancini.

I agree. What will happen is, they'll do well and get to January say 3rd or 4th, start bragging and then their egotistical players will automatically think they have got Champions League qualification in the bag, then they will start to underestimate their opponents and lose/draw games they should win, Mancini will get sacked and they'll finish 7/8th.

Yeah on SSN they were on about signing Ozil and Khedira who combined were cheaper than Milner. I certainly know who i'd rather have in my team between Ozil and Milner especially from what I've seen of Ozil in the bundesliga

I certainly know who i'd rather have in my team between Ozil and Milner especially from what I've seen of Ozil in the bundesliga I would definitely have Ozil but I would think that if City went in for him,the price would immediately double. It's the same thing that happened to Chelsea, having to pay pretty much double what anyone else would.

| Every team who sells to Man City is going to exploit it and try to get as much as possible when they come knocking for the best players. Everton did it last year when they wanted Lescott and got at least 10 million more than they deserved.
I cant even see them getting top 4 and personally I hope they dont. I think the top 4 will be Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in that order.

id reckon something like this ----------------Hart Boateng--Kolo--Kompany--Kolarov -----------Yaya----Barry ---------------Milner Tevez--------Ballo---------Silva anyway, the manager had trouble keeping his squad happy at inter, so with more ego's in this squad, he cant keep everyone happy, and i reckon they will sack the manager before the new years out and finish 6th
