Chelsea sign Yossi Benayoun

This was completed yesterday and realised there was no article on it.

So what is everyone's thoughts?

Something about Benayoun annoys me but I suppose he will be a good squad addition for chelsea and chip in with a few goals

Versatile, lively and gets goals occasionally...really surprised Liverpool would let him go though, there squad is shite and he was usually one of their best.

I think he was bought to supplement the departurre of Joe Cole ( due to both being versatile as cole can play behind lone striker, attacking mid or winger) which is a shame because I'd have prefereed Cole to have stayed rather than Benayoun joining.

Not sure where he'll fit in at Chelsea. Replacement for J Cole perhaps even if their styles differ they are both players that make goals.

He surely isn't on £120k a week though, which Cole was after, I'm guessing that was why.

How much did he cost?

It will be to do with wages though, Benayoun will have much lower wages.

Was around 6 million I think I heard on SSN earlier.

About 5 to 6 million yeah. Don't understand why Liverpool would sell he's a good squad player.

At Chelsea he'll be a good squad player. At pool he should be first team.

Quality player and a very good replacement for Joe Cole in my opinion, given that Chelsea will be challenging for more honours than Liverpool next season no doubt he will play plenty of games even if he misses out on a good few as well, anyway, judging by how far behind Liverpool are these days, its a far better position to be a squad player at the Bridge than at Anfield

Benitez had already sold him before he was gone, it was just medicals and stuff since then, so Hodgson couldn't have done anything about it.

I guess we sold him now so we got the most money out of it, as he will depreciate over the next few years a lot.

Dissapointing to see him go as when he wanted to, he was one of your best attacking forces, and I would have thought Hodgson could have done a lot with Benayoun, similar player to Gera, who he got some good form of.

Hopefully he doesn't play too good for Chelsea, and we get a decent player with the funds.

sad to see him go, hes a nifty little player, he offered something different to our other wingers, but 6m is probably the most we could get for him, and with jovanovic on his way, we did have a few to many wingers at the club, so hopefully the money will help go towards a left back
