- As noted before, former WWE Superstar Batista was at last night's Strikeforce MMA show in Los Angeles.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer asked Batista why he left WWE. Batista said he was sick and tired of WWE's direction and had to get out. He said that it wasn't the kind of wrestling he grew up watching and wasn't the product that he had always enjoyed.
Batista didn't rule out a return to WWE but did not seem in a hurry to work with the company again. Batista, who has lost some weight since leaving WWE, said he was out in Los Angeles looking for work. He was seen talking with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker but The Animal entering the MMA world to fight seems highly unlikely. Film Career Not Taking Off Then

| Wasn't WWE PG in the 80s? Or at least quite similar to the style of WWE have now, and Batista will have watched WWE in the 80s, I think he's just full of bullshit. | |

| In his book, Dave barely mentions wrestling at all, until he's unemployed and see's Goldberg in WCW and thinks he could do better.
At that point, he starts training. Until then, he was a bodybuilder.

PG isn't the problem, its the content thats the problem, The WWF was PG in the 80s, it was also PG in 1997 and 1998, two of the biggest years the WWF produced Pro Wrestling in 2010 is absolutely nothing like Pro Wrestling in the 80s

| If it looks like he is dropping weight then it might just be a natural look of him coming off Steroids, you literally slim down instantly when you come off them.
Nice to read an honest answer though, Batista although he has never been one of my favourites (until his God like heel run after the Rumble) has always been outspoken, totally respect that part of him

| exactly, can maybe add a few extra years onto his no doubt short life coming off them
and if he starts again in wrestling may be a bit more natural

- As noted before, Batista was at this week's Strikeforce MMA show and made it clear that he left WWE because he was unhappy with the direction of the company. Dave Meltzer asked Batista if he would do something like Chris Jericho and return in a year or two. Batista said he didn't want to be compared to Jericho and said he had no plans on returning but did not rule out a return one day.
Batista joked that he was in Los Angeles looking for work and said he's open for offers, be it MMA or acting. Batista has had discussions about doing a reality TV show.
Apparently Batista has been approached with an offer by a non-major MMA group. Word is that it's a big money offer and is for two fights, likely pay-per-view events and the first opponent would be a well-known former headliner. This is the same offer that Batista hinted around about when he was leaving WWE. Batista has been training regularly at the Affliction gym and has dropped considerable weight since leaving WWE. Most believe that a MMA career for Batista is highly unlikely, given his age and experience, among other things.
Batista's contract with WWE has expired and he is a free agent. TNA did make an offer to Batista but with the large amount of money they have spent on bringing in other big names recently, they couldn't come close to matching what he had been earning in WWE.

| If Booker handed Dave his arse at the Summerslam ad filming a couple of years, imagine what a vaguely decent MMA fighter could do to him.
I'd love to see that! | |
