The following news may contain a spoiler in regards to tonight's WWE Extreme Rules PPV main event, read with caution!!!
The word within the WWE locker room in Baltimore, which plays host to tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV, is that Batista will be finishing up with the company this week. Batista is set to challenge John Cena tonight in a last man standing match for the Championship.
Batista made headlines dating back to this past January when he made it known he was ready to retire within the year, after being burnt out and his aspirations to become a movie star. A majority of the WWE crew arrived early this weekend in Baltimore for the PPV and those within the backstage area believe Batista’s career in the WWE will come to an end shortly following the Extreme Rules PPV.
While this all remains speculation, there is great belief that Batista will indeed retire from the Pro Wrestling ring.

| Thats a shame, I have really enjoyed his work since turning heel. I hope he leaves it off for a wee bit longer. | |

| Just read some of the posts on this board, and you'll see a lot of people saying they like him now, not that he's bearable. | |

| I would say that at present he's the 3rd best heel in WWE (behind Punk and Jericho). He's doing the best promos of his life and has finally found his form, shame he's going when he's doing his best ever stuff. | |

| I still don't think much of him at all.
Yes, his heel turn has been good, but as a face he was shite for a good 3 years, so anything would have been an improvement.

| Just found this on eWrestling news - Quote :
- The finish to the John Cena-Batista match last night is not expected to blow off their feud. The word is that Batista will stay on for a few more weeks, possibly until Over the Limit in Detroit on May 23, to work towards writing the character off TV.
Seems Big Dave might be with us for a few more weeks still

| Good news, the way the match ended last night wasn't an ending, now they are 2-2 so maybe this big match can be a blow off match, I've really enjoyed their feud, its not often that Cena isn't the strong tough guy in the feud, he is in this but he isn't the only one.
I thought once again big Dave put on a match of the night contender, his work since turning heel has been shockingly good IMO I buy into his character big time these days

| His interaction with the crowd was fantastic, at least twice he shouted at a fan/fans in an old school heel way | |

| So ideas for the last match of the fued, how do you top a last man standing match?
Iron Man match - Cena has had one recently, it's probably 1 of the few matches left that isn't used regularly or PPV themed.
Hell In A Cell - has a PPV of its own.
Buried Alive match - would it fit with WWE's current line? There hasn't been one for years now.

| Punjabi Prison match?? In all seriousness the only one I can think of is an Iron Man match because I doubt they'd have a Hell in a Cell match with having the PPV | |

| an ironman match would be the obvious choice, but if batista is leaving, id stick an outside bet on a casket or a stretcher match | |

I don't think Batista could go an hour though
