TNA iMPACT! Permanently Moving 1 hour earlier On Monday Nights

Just week's after TNA iMPACT! moved to Monday nights, the company is already changing gears and making a move that many suggested from the beginning.

TNA President Dixie Carter announced via her twitter account that TNA iMPACT! is permanently moving to 8PM (Eastern). iMPACT! will remain 2 hours, but starting next week - the show will have a 1-hour lead-in to WWE RAW and will only go head-to-head with the first hour of RAW.

This week's iMPACT! was a test run to see how the show would do starting an hour earlier and the ratings were enough to convince TNA that a permanent shift is a good move. Monday's iMPACT! did a 0.85 rating, with the first unopposed hour drawing a 0.91 and the second hour, which went head-to-head with RAW, drew a 0.79.

Carter also announced on Twitter that SpikeTV will be adding a replay of iMPACT! to its weekly schedule The replay will air Thursday nights at 9PM (Eastern), iMPACT!'s old timeslo

Someone must of twatted Dixie over the head with a chair and knocked some sense into her, just waiting for her to get rid of Hogan and all should be right.

It is perfect though.

Raw fans can get a peek at TNA without missing any WWE plus their old fans can still watch it in the old timeslot.

It does make sense to move an hour before Raw starts. They set their expectations far too high with going all out head to head against them. May get a few extra viewers if the first hour is good

Makes no sense what so ever to me, if they are really desperate for ratings then they should just move back to Thursdays and go live from there

Glad they are starting at 8, because I'm always up at 1am but waiting till 2 is a bit long. They may well lose even more viewers on a Monday now though, as people will just think 'i'll watch it Thursday'.

New Jack yeah I'm the same, 1am is much easier to play with than 2 and when the clocks change it will be on a 12 for a few weeks, also it hopefully will give them a better first hour than usual

Yep from this week, they play a game of ip dip every week for when they want to be shown on the tv.
Next week they're targeting the 3.30am on a Wednesday crowd as their demographics have shown that those returning from shift work prefer Sting to Undertaker.

when nfl starts again i suggest they run back to thursday anyway. They just going to keep fiddling till they find the best ratings then work out thats thursday
