| So ladies and gentleman, its almost here. the new monday night wars. and its looking to be a close race. i think that wwe will win in the beginning (wrestlemania, duh). but on the first night, i dont think tna will be too far behind. the hogan and flair tag match looks to be a good one, and wwe is STILL playing off of the same old things they have been for months. all the places are in piece for this to be a good show, so get ur tivo's ready people. WHO DO YOU THINK IS GONNA TAKE IT THIS FIRST MOTNH??? | |

| WWE will stay ahead for a while yet, it's wrestlemania time, WWE will always draw around then, shortly after TNA may gain a little but WWE are barely putting effort in and pulling higher ratings so TNA would have to do something special to top WWE for a stretch of time. | |

| i knw, but they just got hulk hogan. if u look at the list of superstars theyve pulled in in the past, ud think they could do just about anything at this point. and if shawn losses his match to taker and his "career ends", i wouldnt be suprised to see a possible defection for him to tna. but thats just a small theory, i think tna has the serious ability to go the distance. | |

| If Shawn loses at wrestlemania it will signal his summer break and he will be back late autumn, it's been widely regarded that Shawn's last WWE match will be against Triple H at a Wrestlemania.
Hogan can only draw so far, but tbh i won't get drawn to TNA if Flair and Hogan are involved in their main events it's more of a reason to stay away for me.
After Wrestlemania i can kind of see WWE distorting the levels of wrestlers so that slightly more main eventers are on Raw then on Smackdown to attempt to kill TNA, partly why i think Christian was added to Raw rather then Smackdown.
However back to the point, with Triple H, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Undertaker and HBK all supposedly wanting time off after Wrestlemania we will (hopefully) see WWE create more main eventers to compensate for that gap so when the wrestlers return 1 by 1 from their breaks, there are fresher fueds keeping viewers entertained.
WWE had i think a 2 point higher viewer rating then TNA last time so like i said TNA will still have their work cut out major time even after Wrestlemania

| noticably ones who WWE don't have work for anymore, maybe not Kurt Angle out of the people on that list, the rest WWE let go, so were just seing an outdated version of WWE.
Jeff reportedly got his 3rd strike days/weeks before his last PPV and therefore cannot return to WWE for 1 year hence his contract with TNA which supposedly will last for 1 year if his trial works out well.

| all very good points, but i think tna has something up theyre sleeves. they wouldnt just charge into the monday wars without something goin on. and they seriously just keep pulling in new stars. if u ask me, tna is actually getting all the new main-eventers. they just need to work on theyre stories a bit. and i mean its serously the SAME OLD FEUDS. at least tna mixes it up a bit. theyve got the talent, and dare i say far more potential than wwe.
fyi i have no favoritism over one company or another. im just calling it like i see it.

| wasnt wcw in a way drawing of wwe as well? and i mean u need a certain number of main eventers to run a show. wwe's main guys are getting old. theyre gonna start running out, and i havent seen 1 promising new rook in a loooooong time. maybe not since batista came in. | |

| my point (at this point at least) is that tna is fresh. wwe is repeating and repeating and repeating. people are gonna start noticing this tna thing. and if they play theyre cards right, people are gonna be like "hulk hogan? ric flair? bischoff? sting? what is THIS show??" | |

| WWE will be fresh soonish i would imagine, with 5 main eventers wanting breaks over the summer and a few leaving over the next year or 2. WWE will naturally promote new main eventers.
Edge Cena CM Punk Orton Christian
all current main eventers who will be around (bar nothing out of ordinary)
likely promoted to main event:
The Miz Jack Swagger Sheamus Drew McIntyre Dolph Ziggler (if a push comes soon) John Morrison Kofi Kingston Cody Rhodes Ted DiBiase David Hart Smith Tyson Kidd
WWE has a fresh future ahead.

| It will take a few years for a successful transition to take place but like Hodge said, WWE have a group of superstars who will make the step up soon.
I do think the gap will close between April and July mainly due to a small fall in WWE's ratings as the likes of HBK, Taker, Jericho and Mysterio take a break but I may be wrong. WWE should use this opportunity to really make stars out of a few guys. It is strange because for once, I am looking forward to what will happen after WrestleMania more than the build up to it.

| i guess it just must be out of personal opinion, but i hardly see any of these guys as stars. let alone main-event material. it feels like wwe is going downhill, and while i hope they do bring something new to the table, im setting my hopes on tna for the "next big thing". i remember when i saw the canadian destroyer, i was like wow. this is the new stuff. i think tna is gonna come back, and when they do, some wwe guys may start questioning the trade to tna. all tna can do is go uphill | |

| Who do you think has the potential to become a really big star in TNA then and do you think anyone from WWE is as good?
I can see Hernandez being around for a while in a similar position to Batista, Ken Anderson also sounds like he is doing well.

| well, since its official, id say rvd has a pretty good shot at potential. but theres always aj, and samoa joe, the canadian destroyer, possibly sting. im not saying theyre going to do better than wwe by any rates anytime soon, but give it maybe a year, and well see some def. chatter going on. | |

| Petey Williams isn't with TNA anymore though? (I presume you're talking about Petey when you mention the Canadian Destroyer)
And I was on about young-ish talent really, people who will be around at the end of the decade lets say?
Sting has got a couple of years left and RVD isn't the youngest either. I think AJ is terrible on the mic TBH but I can't fault his wrestling ability, is that alone enough to be the world champion of a promotion that are gearing up to take on the world's best?

which of the list did you see as main eventers then? However would in 2004 you have said that Cena would have become the face of WWE? Would you have said Edge would have made the transition to becoming one of the very best in the business having not held a world title before 06. Was Orton considered main eventer of the future when he started out? You never know, alot of these guys however are further down the line then some of the current main eventers were at equivilent stages of their carrers. ---- just a side note JTG is 25 i could easily see him being repackaged into a singles mid card wrestler to be honest.

| I know it wasn't directed at me Hodge, but now that you mention it, I didn't see Cena, Edge and Orton being the megastars they are today.
Edge maybe would have got one world title reign due to his work for the tag team division/Ladder match, Orton would have been a high midcarder before either leaving wrestling altogether or going to TNA and Cena would have been lower down the card than Orton. Those would have been my opinions anyway.

Would be interested to see many peoples opinions on how high they thought Cena, Edge, Orton and Batista would go if this was late 2004 now.

| again, u raise a good point. but actually... i did think cena was gonna be a big deal. he started out mouthing off to some big people. edge was a big deal when he started basically. edge and christian were pretty massive to me. and orton basically started out in legacy. so yes, i thought he was gonna be big too. but u have sorta made me change my mind. i could see maybe a few of those guys pulling in some ratings. but no new austins or helmsleys though.
thats just the key though. im not sure how long the wwe will be the worlds best. i think theyre gonna start losing ratings after this little spike of theirs. dont get all fired up, just my opinion. but it was kinda the same way with wcw. at least to my memory it was
