News broke a couple of days ago anyone think its a good idea they need 15 out of 20 to votes from clubs to go through for it to work

So if a team finish on 65 + points, they may be beaten by a team with 50 points and lose out on millions through champions league money?

Great idea, let them scrap for the whole season then deny them what they deserve, great thinking that...

good idea just for the fact it will change things up a bit.


bad idea because the point is its how you do across the season, not just a few games in the end.

what i'd like is a prem vs champ play off when it comes to relegation/promotion.

so somtimes more teams come up, more go down, somtimes not. spicey

What about when newly promoted teams do really well? Birmingham this year, Reading, West Ham and Ipshit have all been promoted and finished in the top 7 (well Birmingham are on course to)

Would the FA want Ipswich or Reading to represent England in Europe over Liverpool or Arsenal? I wouldn't would make the Prem look weak, don't think this idea will get passed.

I said good idea, the best way to help teams get better.....increased disposable income, way to expose teams to large sums of it? letting them play champions league football. Like it has already been said it will also help change it up as well i find it boring seeing the same 4 teams in europe year in year out where as in Spain/Italy you get 2/3 regulars then other teams you dont often see.

Bad idea.

It's already shit that so many teams see finishing fourth as their massive goal for the season, having them aim for seventh is just rubbish. Plus the English having a darned good co-efficient is the reason we have 4 teams in it, usually we get 4 teams in the last 16, 3 of the 4 semi-finalists (this season being the exception!)... if we had 3 and say, Fulham, I can't sdee Fulham doing that well in it, our co-efficient drops and we end up with 3 terams in it rather than 4.

If a team does well enough over 38 games to get in the top 4, then why should they then lose that by losing one game?

so you would also suggest dropping the play offs for every one of the football leagues?

europe isnt the same as football leauge though

same principal though, The Championship for example with the prize of the Premiership on the line which is an estimated £40m the team coming in 6th beats a team in 3rd in the final but were say 18 points behind.

same principal grow up you cant say liverpool arsenal madrid barca are the same principal as blackpool or swansea fcs

Yeah, I would. Even though Exeter got promoted out of the Conference through the play-offs having finished fourth, it's a bit shit that a team could not get promoted on goal difference, then lose out on promotion to a team that finished miles behind.

playoffs are unfair fullstop its only for tv money in a sport you may know called speedway they have a playoff between 1 and 2nd for winner of the leauge over 3 legs (maybe less or more legs) its silly and is for money nothing else

"We gave it a lot of discussion, a lot of detail, a lot of data. But there was not enough support to take the idea forward, so we won't be discussing that proposal any further."
