Details on the WrestleMania 26 Set and Stage

- Here are some notes on the WrestleMania 26 set from the new issue of WWE Magazine:

* The dome in the University of Phoenix Stadium will be open, like WrestleMania 24, making it an open-air event.

* Over 1,500 miles of cables and wire will be ran through the stadium to light the ring, stage and entrance way.

* Close to 400,000 pieces of pyro will be used and shot over 200 feet into the air above Phoenix.

* The 110 foot tall above-ring structure will hold 30 tons of light, sound and video equipment and look similar to the one at WrestleMania 24.

* A $250,000 four-sided LED big screen with 150 speakers will hang under the ring structure ensuring a great view for everyone.

* Before heading to the ring, WWE Superstars will first walk onto a 120 foot-wide stage that stands 8 feet above the floor. As of now, they will then head down a ramp to the ring that will be surrounded by cauldrons of fire. These fire cauldrons will be placed all around the WrestleMania set and will burn high or low, depending on what the action in the ring calls for. Each cauldron burns at about 1,000F degrees.

thats alot of work put in to it before the wrestlers even get to the ring.and alot of cable

The cauldrons of fire things sound pretty weird, but everything else seems to be the usual what you would expect from the 'greatest show on earth'

seems strange that they will do an open air one when they have the roof available

I like the open air ones. They remind me of Summerslam at Wembley back in the day.

They have a cover over the ring just like at WM24, they are hardly going to let their biggest show of the year be ruined by rain.

the arena looks mint

Looks like a great set and it sounds like it could be the moat extravagant Mania set yet

I think the arena goes a long way in setting the tone for the event eg the raw @msg was the best raw in 2009 for me and mania 24 was quality in the citrus bowl and that had a great arena and set out

Defintly looks like thet are pulling out all the stops for this one. I hope they do the same with the matches

My personal favorite Wrestlemania set was WM 20, the video screens on the floor were awesome. The Mania 25 set was great aswell.

Does it rain a lot in Arizona?? I guess they would close the roof it there was a threat of rain.

I don't think so, the Mania ad says somethung about coming to the desert so rain is unlikely.
