My Top 5 matches of 2009

2009 was filled with a lot of great matches, one of the best years in a long time for match quality so I have chosen the 5 matches I enjoyed most this year.

1. KENTA vs Davey Richards- ROH Supercard of Honor IV

2. Bryan Danielson vs Naruki Doi- DGUSA

3. AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe vs Daniels- TNA Turning Point

4. Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker- Wrestlemania 25

5. Desmond Wolfe vs Kurt Angle- TNA Turning Point

These are my personal favourites if anyone disagrees post what you thought was the top 5 matches of the year.

1. Bryan Danielson vs Naruki Doi (DGUSA Untouchable)
2. Samoa Joe vs Christopher Daniels vs AJ Styles (TNA Turning Point)
3. Davey Richards vs Shingo (DGUSA Untouchable)
4. Jimmy Jacobs vs Austin Aries - I Quit (ROH Rising Above)
5. Young Bucks vs Susuma Yokosuka & CIMA (DGUSA Enter the Dragon)

I don't actually remember the Richards vs KENTA match but I know I must have seen it. Strange, because I can certainly imagine those two having one hell of a match.

Does anyone watch the smaller wrestling circuits like CZW? i saw some of their stuff on youtube and it looked okay

Cheers man, I'll have a look at that a little bit later on. As for CZW, I generally can't stand them or IWA-MS as most of the performers are pretty useless and have to use weapons as they aren't capable of doing anything else. There have been a few exceptions that have come through those companies though, so I suppose if you're selective of the matches you watch from them they could be decent enough.

Just finished watching the Richards vs KENTA match, and I actually remember it now, pretty damn good and may have been in my top 5 back around April or whenever it was. I do think that his match with Shingo at Untouchable was even better though, I had a hard time seperating that, Danielson vs Doi and Daniels vs Joe vs AJ as all three were phenomenal matches, November was one hell of a month for wrestling.

Glad you enjoyed it Gunman. Not seen the Shingo match. Might give it a watch. Loved the Danielson match btw Reaper.
