The moments we love!

This is a simple topic:

what are the moments that really stand out as wrestling at it's best? Not the greatest angles or matches, but the seconds or minutes that made you sit there and say 'Holy fuck!' or something along those lines...?

Mine would be:

Shelton vs Shawn, on Raw in 2005. The moment Shelton catapulted off the top, into the greatest Sweet Chin Music ever.

Shawn vs Undertaker, Mania 25: when Shawn kicked out of the first Tombstone, the camera zooms into 'Taker's face, and he looks absolutely stunned. Genius.

Edge vs Mick Foley, Mania 22: that spear through the blazing table.

Any more for any more?

Actually the one that springs into my head is from last weeks Survivor Series when HBK hit the sweet chin music on HHH as soon as the match started and there was 10 seconds of Cena just stood there in awe.

Mic Foley Thrown off the cage by taker, and then micheal cole screamed 'he may be dead'

Every time taker flies over the top rope at WM the way he does it and for his size you got to love it.

Actually I think that was JR not Michael Cole but I've got to agree with you about the moment itself, clsely followed by Mick going through the cage a few minutes later. But that first throw off the roof was probably more shocking because I genuinely didn't expect it.

The Foley vs Taker HIAC match the fall off the top but also the chokeslam throught the top of the cell.

Eddie blading at Judgment Day 2004, the blood just poured out of him.

Any tag team TLC match has a lot of HOLY SHIT! moments.

Taker-Foley HIAC was just stunning the first time I saw it.

Bischoff and McMahon hugging on Raw was shocking for me.

correct it was JR , i mixed up when vince went through the announce table Micheal Cole said he may be dead.

I love the moments in world title matches where the challenger kicks out of the champion's finisher (similar to the HBK-Taker moment that has already been mentioned. If the champion is bleeding, it only adds to the dramatic effect. More often then not, you then know that there will be a new champion as most of the time, the champion attempts to hit the finisher for the 2nd time only to be countered into the challenger's finisher.

I also like pretty much any return (even if you know who is returning) when the returning wrestler runs down to the ring and takes out everyone, even if it doesn't make sense considering there are about 10 other guys in the ring lol.

HHH's return in 2001 was nice

Taker's return in 2004 @ WrestleMania XX

the hbk/taker was awesome with kickouts from the tombstone/last ride/choke slam

taker's return as american badass judgement day 2000 was cool, and made even more dramatic with jr's commentry.

Some have already been mentioned but Jericho's debut is one that stands out for me.

The "real stone cold" returning to help team WWF.

Anytime the rock returns.

and who didn't mark out when Cena returned at the rumble(even for just one second)?

Also remember that fat bastard Bubba Ray Powerbombing molly holly through a table from the turnbuckle.

One that I've just remembered is when Shawn collapsed in the ring after Owen Hart kicked him in the back of the head. Everyone acted as though it was genuine even though it was all an angle. I think it's one of the few times when I've been genuinely sucked in by a wrestling angle - I really couldn't tell if it was genuine or not. The fact that HBK had just come back from a serious concussion added to the realism.

I remember Bubba Rey powerbombing Mae Young too through a table I think, might of even been off the stage, awesome

Sting + Hogan at Starrcade

In recent times: There is a video on youtube of Batista doing the best spear/spinebuster on Elijah Burke as he jumped off the top rope.

It was just siiiiick. Probably the best thing Batista has ever done. lol

He could have just pinned him then, but no he still went for the Batista Bomb

For me Taker throwing Foley of the cell and Survivor Series 97 really put WWF back on the map and wrestling in general.

After the Hulkamania era it winded down a bit and became stale, and of course it was the start of the much loved Attitude Era

The moments i love the most are:

Taker, Foley HIAC
When the Rock returned to save the WWF (the 1st few weeks after that were brilliant)

Taker returning at Judgement Day 2000 the suprise of it was great, the crowds reaction is one of the best i've seen and the destruction of the McMahon-Helmsley faction was perfect (especially the ChokeSlam on X-Pac)

btw: anyone notice how quickly HHH gets up from that Rock Bottom

Batista still manages to injure himself with that spear.

2006 was a good year, some of the matches really stood out and i enjoyed some of the moments in them.

Some of the moments from the Edge/Cena feud I thought were excellent!

I have to admit I marked out when CM Punk cashed in the Money in the Bank the second time.

From the videos I have seen, wasn't watching wresting at the time but I still get a reaction from Kane's debut.
