Early Tuesday morning, WWE.com was contacted by Jamie Noble, who revealed his decision to conclude a seven-year career as a WWE Superstar and retire from the squared circle.
This regrettable announcement came hours after Noble was released from the medical facility where he sought treatment for injuries sustained at the hands of Sheamus one week ago on Raw and after years of nagging shoulder and neck injuries.
"Luckily, the doctors tell me I'm going to recover again," Noble told WWE.com in an article published earlier this week. "But I'm laying here thinkin' about how great my life is with my wife and my son. I'm thinkin', how many more times am I gonna be lucky enough to walk out of the hospital on my own? I'm thinkin' it might be time to hang up my tights and boots." (Full Article Here)
WWE.com wishes Jamie Noble all the best in his recovery and his career outside the ring.

| I was going to post this but then I thought it'd be part of the storyline and he'll come back a few monmths down the line for a feud with Sheamus. | |

| Jamie's a producer or road agent behind the scenes, so I guess he'll be concentrating on that rather than actually wrestling. He'd not been on TV for months, so not really a massive loss.
And it might been seen as a 'dick move', but surely it's putting Sheamus over? I can't see it as anything else, good of Jamie to bow out helping push a new guy...

| Puting Jamie Noble out of commission does absolutely nothing for Sheamus. Noble had been treated like an absolute jobber for years, making it completely meaningless. | |

Depends on how you look at it. He has been a jobber for years, but no-one (kay-fabe wise at least) managed to beat him so badly he quit. It makes Sheamus look a heartless bastard, beating up a little guy, and helps to establish him as a heel. That's how I see it, anyway.

| It might make him look like a dick, but I just don't see that being enough to get him over. To me it seems that beating up a plant in the crowd would be essentially the same, to actually get anything really positive out of an angle like this, they would have needed to do it with somebody with a bit of name recognition.
That said, I have always liked Jamie Noble and feel he was never really utilised to the best of his abilities during his time in the WWE despite being on good terms with management.

I take your point, but if Jamie's going to retire (and I seriously doubt he decided this from his hospital bed), he might as well help a new guy establish his character. I agree that just doing this won't transform Sheamus into Raw's biggest heel, but it shows the audience that he's a mean bastard, isn't afraid of doing real damage to people, and is a full-on bully. Would, say, Randy Orton have benefitted from being the guy that retired Noble? No. Would Sheamus? Yes.
