DX Backing Drew McIntyre

Triple H and Shawn Michaels are said to be allies of young superstar Drew McIntyre and are partilly responsible for his strong push on SmackDown. They feel he has the potential to be the next major star and a talent the company can build around in the future, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Many see the similarities between McIntyre and a younger Triple H, with the height, body build, hair and the same ability. The strong push for McIntyre has upset talent backstage, as some wrestlers have been around for several years and were promised a push if they performed better The general feeling backstage on the Raw brand is that if you do not have the support of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena or Randy Orton, then your upward mobility on the card is limited.

I guess there's really two different ways to look at the whole 'Dx - McIntyre' issue. I mean there's no denying that McIntyre does have a lot of Talent, and providing so major setbacks he will be around for a long long time. And with the support he's getting from guys like Shaun and Hunter you can bet he'll be a multiple timed Champion. But from another point of view, guys that have promised a push and have yet to receive it will understandably become frustrated at the rate of McIntyre's rise.

You can say that it's unfair that you really have to have the support of guys like Randy, John etc to receive a push. But really, these guys have been at the top for a long time and they know what it takes, and really when you think about that, if they're supporting someone, chances are they have what it takes.

Personally, from Scotland i am enjoying having somebody from Scotland in the WWE. And i hope he continues to rise, and with the supposed support from Michaels and HHH i think it's a matter of when, not if.

is he actually from scotland or is it just his character? He certainly doesnt sound it to me, sounds more like Mel Gibson in Braveheart with a rubbish accent

Yeah, he's from Scotland.

He was born in Ayr. But yeah his accent isn't the most pure, but i guess he's been out the country for a while, is only natural that it'd happen.
