Edge Seriously Injured at house show

Edge, one-half of the WWE Unified Tag Team Champions, suffered a very serious injury during a main event match with Jeff Hardy at a SmackDown!/ECW house show in San Diego, California on Friday, July 3.
Roughly five minutes into the match, though the first few were spent posturing to the fans, Edge planted his foot wrong and immediately went down. It was said that his leg was in a bad angle. With the match having immediately stopped, Edge apologized to the fans before being taken out of the ring with help from EMTs.It is being reported that Edge suffered from a torn Achilles tendon and will require surgery and a great deal of time on the shelf.
As a result, WWE is looking for some way to quickly put the belts on Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase as well as going over footage from the tapings they did on Wednesday in Bakersfield for next week. They are apparently looking to see if they can make a case somewhere in Edge?s match with The Great Khali that will be used to be the result of the injury.

Bad news, sounding like a double turn though, Edge face and Khali heel? SD will defo suffer bad from this.

Edge has been working through several nagging injuries as of late, but wasn't able to get his schedule lightened due to the fact that he was the top star on SmackDown.

Disco 2010 is only 6 months away mate, 6 months is nothing, I was talking to my mate last night and he said it was over a year before he managed to play again when he done his achillies, I thought it was a while didn't know it was that long

Could it be possible for Edge to take a non-wrestling role? I know he'll be out some of the time getting surgery and stuff but I seem to remember Kurt Angle doing something similar.

That way Edge can still stay fresh in the minds of the fans, he could turn face still and he wouldn't be in the world title picture. It would take out the suprise of a return or something, but there could still be shock like suddenly being able to wrestle again...

Their is absolutely no way Edge will ever be forgotton about at all, especially if its just for the remainder of the year, having him gone for a while will help spark intense reactions for him when he does return!

plus he can return as a massive face if needs be.

would involve him mentioning his divorces, knackered friendships and the like. tied in with christian not repecting him any more and his injuries just when he gets on top of a situation.

Almost immediately after the bout started, Edge was in his corner when Hardy charged toward him. After attempting to leapfrog Hardy, Edge crumbled to the canvas. Edge arrived this morning at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., this morning to surgically repair the torn Achilles tendon in his left ankle. Dr. James Andrews currently has Edge's operation scheduled for 10 a.m. ET. Dr. Andrews has previously performed surgeries on WWE Superstars Batista, Triple H, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and many others. Andrews also consulted on NFL quarterback Tom Brady after his third knee surgery and most recently worked with Brett Favre for his possible return to the NFL.

WWE.com will attempt to have comments from both Dr. Andrews and Edge later today, including a timeline for Edge's return to the ring.

WWE.com will also investigate how this injury will affect the status of the Unified Tag Team Titles, as well as Edge & Chris Jericho's scheduled match with Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase at Night of Champions.

why was he on raw was it recorded last week?

Yeah it was recored, almost stumbled on the spoiler's last week lol.

Yeah I saw the main event last week that someone recorded on their phone, I stay away from spoilers these days but since it was actual footage I watched it, and DiBiase and Rhodes turned on Orton but they cut it from this weeks show

Add this to the turn of Carlito, and the WWE tag division is down to 3 teams. So much for them supposedly trying to boost the division with the unification
