| Backstage News On Edge's Title Win, Y2J's 'Mania Opponent?
Reported by: Ryan Clark
SPOILER ALERT: It will be announced tonight on Sci-Fi's ECW that Christian will face ECW Champion Jack Swagger for the Championship on next week's show.
WWE officials worked hard this past weekend to make sure the fact that Edge was going to be working both Elimination Chamber matches and winning the World Heavyweight Title didn't leak to the internet. Vince McMahon was furious that word got out that Christian Cage was supposed to play the role of the guy who attacked Jeff Hardy all those times, which led to Matt Hardy getting Christian's spot on SmackDown. To make sure nobody on the WWE crew knew what was going to happen, they put a huge tarp over the Elimination Chamber on Sunday afternoon so nobody else in the building could see the WWE Superstars in the ring planning out the matches.
As things stand now, Chris Jericho will be facing a 'legend' at WrestleMania. I'd have to say that the top contenders at this point would appear to be Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan.

BTW, there are rumours that if the Edge vs Cena angle is ended before Mania, that Hogan could face Cena at Mania instead of Jericho. Apparently, it all depends on whether Mickie Rourke agrees to appear at Wrestlemania but I don't know too much about that.

| So from what looked a decent mania card they go and ruin it by mentioning Hulk fucking Hogan. | |

| Makes sense though Maccs, if Austin is not available Hulk Hogan is the biggest name in wrestling so can work this particular angle, I don't like it anyway, not for Jericho, but if they are going to go down the rout and they cant get Austin then Hogan is the name
On a side note, I've heard Randy Savage being mentioned for a possible role which for whats went on over the years would be unbelievable

| I agree on that, it might have been a shock if Christian was brought in ASAP but the longer it dragged out the longer it became so obvious, then the swerve became just as obvious | |

| what did they expect? Jeff gets mysteriously attacked after he takes the title from Edge. Edge's best bud leaves TNA at same time. Not exactly rocket science for that rumour to come about.
What next a promo for a guy who is only known as Sandy Ravage who says Ohhh Yeaaaahhh a lot and then they get annoyed when people work out its the Macho Man? (although hell may freeze over before that happens, just cant see him making a Mania appearance)

| Speaking of Savage, some rumours from decent posters on other forums are suggesting Savage could be involved in this legends angle although its a long shot | |

| There are only three matches all but confirmed for WrestleMania 25 and that is Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy, and Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker (which will be set up by JBL vs. Michaels on RAW next week).
Though Mickie Rourke is going around telling people that he won’t be attending WrestleMania 25, WWE is expecting him to change his mind after the Academy Awards on Sunday. If that isn’t the case, WWE is setting up a possible match where Chris Jericho will face a number of legends that he’s confronted up until the ‘Mania PPV, including some possible surprise legends. This would lead to a likely match between Jericho and Hogan if Rourke doesn’t come through after Sunday night. It’s basically a wait and see game right now.
If Rourke did come through to face Jericho, that would free up Hogan to then wrestle someone like John Cena. Cena is currently involved in a program with Edge which COULD lead them right into ‘Mania. It all really depends on Rourke and what he chooses to do AFTER Sunday’s Oscars. He doesn’t want to risk not getting an Oscar due to taking part in a WWE angle.
Also, expect the annual tradition of Money in the Bank matches at WrestleMania to continue this year.
