I'd go with Goldberg being announced as the first entrant into the Hall of Fame next year, this would happen the week before the Rumble.
Ryback has a handicap match against that 'El Locales' team that WWE have started trotting out (Ricardo Rodriguez and Curt Hawkins?) and obliterates them. At the end of the match, Goldberg comes out and starts doing his signature moves on El Locales, and Ryback is matching him, move for move. Segment ends with a stare-down.
Royal Rumble: Ryback enters early, no 5 or 6. He clears the ring, grabs the mic and challenges Goldberg to come out and face him right now. Goldberg doesn't appear, and Ryback ends up being eliminated from the Rumble by the returning Sheamus.
Raw: the following night, Goldberg opens the show, telling the world that he thinks Ryback is nothing but a cheap knock-off of him. he took it as a compliment to start with, until he realised how much Ryback sucked. He'd be more than happy to hand him his ass at Wrestlemania.
We then go for the next few weeks, with tit-for-tat promos, Ryback claiming he's better than Goldberg, how much he loves wrestling, and is more than just a failed NFL player. Goldberg claims Ryback is nothing more than Goldberg-wannabe, Goldberg is WCW through-and-through and Vince always hated the fact he didn't create Goldberg.
Elimination Chamber:
Goldberg asks for a match to get back into ring-shape, and smashes the hell out of Curtis Axel. Ryback goes into a Chamber match, but loses when Goldberg comes up from underneath the ring and spears him through a Pod and gets him eliminated.
Build-up to Wrestlemania:
Ryback asks for Heyman's help to destroy Goldberg. Heyman refuses, saying Ryback needs to build the beast from within.
We then get to Mania, and Ryback wins!
