this is why sports personality of the year awards shouldn't be done before the end of the year.

Andy Flower would now have been very hard not to give coach of the year too and England would have won team of the year with a 2020 world cup win and retaining the ashes in aus within the same year.

I agree with Hodge, they have by far been the best team this year and Flower has been excellent in partnership with Strauss.

It was an amazing effort to go out there and retain the Ashes but now a win in the final test is what's needed to win the series 3-1 in Australia would set us up very well for the next few years. Well done England!!

Great to retain the ashes on the aussies home turf.
Hopefully we will be able to maintain our good test form for india and sri lanka in the summer and become the best team in the world.

Well, I don't think India are Going to cause us many problems over here and Sri Lanka aren't as good of a team as we are so there is a chance we could get to 2 but I think South Africa are still a better team than us, at least for now...
