Cobra RKI RP Empty
PostSubject: Cobra RKI RP   Cobra RKI RP EmptyFri Jun 18, 2010 10:19 pm

Cobra is standing facing a black curtain, wearing his familiar wrestling attire of Black combat trousers and black boots. He is jogging on the spot, getting himself pumped up for his upcoming match. Cobra was bitten by the wrestling bug at a young age. His passion sometimes borders on obsession. That’s why he’s standing in a beat up, crappy high school gym with about 200 people crammed in, waiting to face some no name amateur. He didn’t have to be here. He didn’t have to wrestle at a small time indy show but he was in Vegas for the Roughkut Invitational Tournament. Some people go site seeing, throwaway money in a casino. Cobra decided to check out the local wrestling talent and what better way to see what they’ve got than to step into the ring. The 200 strong crowd can be heard chanting “Cobra” repeatedly, waiting in anticipation for the international superstar to burst through the curtain. “King of the Stereo” screams out of the PA system in the gym. It doesn’t sound too good out of the cheap, sub-standard speakers but that didn’t stop the fans from screaming at the top of their lungs as Cobra walks out through the curtain.

The fans rise to their feet and cheer as loud as they can as Cobra makes his way down to the ring. Cobra acknowledges their support before climbing up onto the ring apron. The ring itself doesn’t look in great condition. There is a lot of duct tape on the mat, most likely to stop the ring from falling apart, not exactly the level of quality Cobra’s used to. The announcer, Joey Jameson clambers into the ring. Joey also runs the fed but with his budget couldn’t afford to hire a professional announcer so does it all himself. He’s not in the best shape, beer belly, receding hairline and he seems to be sweating after moving only a few feet. Joey wipes the sweat from his forehead and rubs his hand on his grubby jeans.

Across the ring from Cobra is his opponent. Kyle Chambers, a decent young rookie looking to impress any promoters watching. His face is mixture of nervousness and excitement. Cobra smiles, remembering back to his early days starting out in the Professional Wrestling industry. Joey raises the microphone to his lips and clears his throat.

Ladies and Gentlemen, The following is your Main Event of the evening!

Standing in the corner to my right, from Los Angeles, California, weighing in at 225 pounds, Kyle Ccccchhhhhhaaaaaambbbbeerrrrrsss!!!!!

Chambers raises his arms in the air, generating a decent pop from the crowd

And, standing in the corner to my left, for one night only, from Tijuana, Mexico, weighing in at 260 pounds, The Shining Light, Coooooooooooobbbbbbbbrrrraaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cobra walks out into the middle of the ring and raises his arms in the air as the crowd cheer loudly. Joey coughs and wheezes as he climbs out of the ring, most likely heading outside for another smoking break. The bell rings to signal the start of the match.

Cobra and Chambers circle each other and then lock up in the middle of the ring. Chambers gets the advantage and locks in a side headlock on Cobra. Chambers looks delighted that he has managed to get the upper hand but the smile is soon wiped off as Cobra counters into a back suplex. Chambers stumbles to his feet, clutching his back. Chambers walks straight into a devastating Viper Strike (Buzzsaw Kick). Chambers falls to the mat. Cobra could end the match right now but he wants to give the fans in attendance a bit more for their money. Cobra drags Chambers closer to the corner. Cobra climbs to the top rope. The fans know what’s coming next. Cobra leaps off the top rope with a rib crushing No Known Cure (Double Rotation Moonsault). Cobra goes for the cover and the ref counts. 1...2...Cobra lifts Chambers shoulder off the mat, he isn’t finished just yet. Cobra picks Chambers off the mat. Cobra turns around and hooks Chambers arms. The fans look on in anticipation. SNAKEBITE! Cobra smashes Chambers face into the mat with the spinning impaler. Cobra goes for the cover and the ref makes the academic three count.

“King of the Stereo” plays and Cobra rises to his feet. Cobra raises his arms in the air as the fans chant his name. Cobra climbs out of the ring and heads to the back. Cobra walks through the hall, passing the staff and wrestlers. The walls are covered in cracks and crude graffiti. Cobra walks into his changing room and notices an envelope with his name scrawled on it sitting on the bench. Cobra sits down on the bench and rips open the letter. Cobra eyes dart back an forward as he reads. Cobra raises an eyebrow as he sets the page down beside him.

Cobra: Make a wrestling match as un-entertaining as possible? No, no no. That’s not my style. I’ve built my career on being one of the if not THE most exciting wrestler on the face of the earth. From humble beginnings in Tijuana to wrestling in Madison Square Garden in front of 20,000 screaming fans at Night of Glory II. When I step out through the curtain and walk down to the ring, there is only one thing on my mind, send the fans home with something they will never forget. It doesn’t matter how much money some corporate drones throw at me, I will never compromise my beliefs, I will never disrespect the sport of Professional Wrestling.

The wrestling ring has become home for me. It’s the one place on Earth where I feel I truly belong. The screaming fans, the adrenaline rush I get as I tear my opponent limb from limb. I go all out to win, I go all out to prove I’m the best in the goddamn world! My heartbeat quickens with every move I make, with every step closer I get to victory and there’s no better feeling in the world than the roar of the crowd as the bell rings and I’m announced as the winner.

I didn’t get to the top of the wrestling world by taking bribes from people who have probably never even seen a wrestling ring. I got to where I am by working my ass off. I gave my blood, sweat and tears and I don’t regret a single second of it! And do you know why? Because I get to do what I love every single night of the week.

So my answer to this asinine proposition it a definite ‘no’. I’m planning on letting my pure wrestling talent do the talking for me. I don’t need any help to win this tournament. I’m going to walk down to the ring, Las Vegas, the entire world watching the longest running interfed tournament out there and I’m going to send shockwaves through the wrestling world. After the Roughkut Invitational Tournament part 6 is finished, no one and I mean absolutely no one! Will ever forget the name, Cobra!

Cobra picks the letter and the cheque off the bench and rips them up and throws them down to the floor. Cobra had made his feelings known, he wasn’t going to be bought. Cobra sits down on the bench and takes a moment to compose himself. A knock on the door causes Cobra to look up. Standing at the door is Joey Jameson. He looks nervous with pit stains showing on his scruffy polo shirt.

JJ: Ermmm...can I talk to you for a minute, sir?

Cobra smirks at Joey’s comical appearance.

Cobra: Sure Joey, pull up a chair.

Joey edges into the room, running his hand through his greasy hair. Joey grabs a nearby chair and sits down.

Cobra: So, what did you want to talk to me about?

JJ: Well, I’d just like to thank you for agreeing to appear here, it gave us some great publicity.

Cobra: No problem, Joey. It was great that I could get in a bit of a warm up match before the RK tournament starts. I mean, it wasn’t much of a challenge but still, always good to get in a warm up match before the real competition comes at me all guns blazing.

Joey lets out a groan and runs his hands through his greasy hair once more.

JJ: That damn tournament! That’s going to do wonders for my business!

Cobra: I wouldn’t sweat it too much, it’s not like you’re doing great business as it is.

Cobra smirks at Joey as Joey glares back.

JJ: Hey, I do just fine.

Cobra: I guess you and I have different definitions of the word fine. There were 200 people out there and that’s about 5 times the amount you usually pull in.

JJ: I thought you were here to wrestle, not criticize how I run my shows?

Cobra laughs as Joey’s face turns red with frustration. Who needs a big time superstar picking apart their beloved little indy federation?

JJ: Anyway, moving on. How are feeling about this tournament thing? Think you’re in with a shot. You’re facing Tricia Smith in the first round, right?

Cobra: Joey, throughout all my travels, wrestling just about everywhere I can, I’ve accomplished a lot. I’m currently pulling double shifts, wrestling in both 6CW and 6wf and I’ve had great success in both. I was the first ever 6CW TV Champion, I’m a former 6CW tag team champion and in 6wf, I’m a former two time European Champion and on top of all that, I’m the current TAW World Heavyweight Champion. In just over a year, I’ve pretty much done it all in both those feds. I’ve won championships, I’ve wowed the millions of fans all over the world by putting on some of the best wrestling matches they have ever seen and now it’s time to show my fellow professionals who the real world champ is. You see Joey, I may be the World Champion in one fed but that doesn’t mean a goddamn thing in another fed but do you know what does, having Roughkut Invitational tournament winner on your CV.

And so, my road to glory begins against Tricia Smith, now I’ll admit, I don’t know much about her, all I know is she’s young and inexperienced. She’s still learning the art of wrestling, well she gets the honour of stepping in the ring with a wrestling genius. I’ve wrestled all over the world, I’ve wrestled against some of the greatest wrestlers of our generation and that has only helped me develop, that only helped me get even better.

Now I’m better than I’ve ever been, I’m fully prepared for whatever Tricia Smith can throw at me, I’m ready to show the world that there can be no argument that I am simply the greatest wrestler that has ever graced the RKI with his presence. This will be the tournament where my legend will be solidified, I will forever be the benchmark that every young rookie breaking into the business will desperately try to reach and only those who possess truly special talent will come close.

Tricia Smith will look back on this match as the night she experienced unimaginable wrestling talent. This will be a great experience for her, if she pays attention, she can learn a lot and if she works hard, if she’s willing to put her body on the line each and every night, then maybe, just maybe she can one day reach my level but we both have to focus on the present.

Everyone in this tournament will know how important it is to hit the ground running. They want to be seen as the person to beat, the wrestler everyone wants to defeat. On this night, some people will take a step towards achieving glory, others will see their dreams destroyed before their very eyes at the first hurdle.

I live for matches like this. The crowd will be absolutely electric, they’ve been counting down the days to the beginning of this tournament. They want excitement, they want incredible wrestling, they want amazing shows of athleticism and I’m only too happy to oblige. Tricia Smith you have the privilege of being the first person in Vegas to fall victim to the SNAKEBITE! And believe me, you certainly won’t be the last.

Well, Joey it’s been a pleasure doing business with you but it’s time I get going.

Cobra and Joey both get to their feet. Cobra picks his kit bag off the floor and throws it over his shoulder. Joey extends his hand and Cobra accepts. The two men shake hands. Cobra slaps Joey on the back and heads out the door. Joey calls after him.

JJ: Good luck in the RK Tourney!

Cobra: I don’t need luck!
