Former WWE Tag Team Champion Joey Mercury is set to return to the WWE.
The plan is for him to return to the SmackDown! brand, where his former tag team partner John Morrison currently wrestles. Mercury teamed with Morrison (then Johnny Nitro) and were managed by Melina, and found great success as a tag team.
Mercury was released in March of 2007, and worked on the independent scene for a while, but then retired in 2008, reportedly due to injuries.

If Mercury starts to team with Morrison again, Morrison is going backwards.

unless Mercury is totally repackaged, leave Morrison & Mercury with the belts for half year plus and build Morrison for WM27 MITB

By WrestleMania 27, I'd say Morrison would be ready to challenge for a world title let alone MITB.
And I can see your point Leak but like hodge said, if it is booked right, it could be entertaining. However, my worry is how similar it would be to Miz and Morrison.
If this is true, then I do think MnM will reform seeing as Melina is injured, she can be their manager again, a possible Tag Team title feud with the Hart Dynasty in the summer?

I too think Morrison will be ready but i see him using MITB and turning heel again when cashing it in.

But it would be a massive step back for Morrison, it would basically go back to how he very first started in the WWE.

I think they used to feud with morrison and could turn one into a decent heel.

-- It was recently reported that former WWE tag champion Joey Mercury is on his way back to the company. According to Mike Aldren, one idea currently being discussed by the WWE creative team is to have Mercury return on SmackDown as part of CM Punk's Straight-Edge Society. Mercury was released from WWE back in 2007 after a well-documented battle with pain killer addiction, so the angle would be playing off real issues.
